Annual ‘Mud Run’ helps Girls Inc. fulfill its nonprofit mission

BOONSBORO, Md. (DC News Now) — Final preparations are underway for Saturday morning’s annual Mud Run.

It’s the principal fundraiser for Girls Inc., a nonprofit that empowers young women to reach their full potential through a variety of activities, whether in the classroom, on the athletic field or nature retreats and cultural experiences.

While the obstacle course is a muddy mess, event organizers insist it is tons of fun and all for a good cause.

“We serve over 3,000 youth in Washington County,” Rae Tucker with Girls Inc., said. “We equip them with the tools they need to succeed.”

The Mud Run is an all-morning activity at the Washington County Agricultural Center on Route 65.

Entry fees are $100 for adults and $50 for children 10 and under.
