'Crazy Rich Asians' On Track for Biggest Labor Day Weekend Box Office in Over a Decade
Crazy Rich Asians is crazy successful. After a stellar opening weekend, and a strong second week with just a 6% drop, the romantic comedy has won the box office again in it's third weekend, bringing home $22.2 million and a projected $30 million by Labor Day, according to Business Insider.
Forbes reports that the film has already surpassed Trainwreck (2015), Bad Moms (2016), and Girls Trip (2017), with a real chance at becoming the second-biggest romantic comedy in film history, behind My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002).
The film's star, Constance Wu, celebrated the third week on top with a still of her and co-star Henry Golding on Instagram. Both are en route to London where they will join their cast for press ahead of the U.K. premiere on September 15th.
