'Grey's Anatomy' Fans Have Mixed Feelings About Chris Carmack's "Ortho God"
Grey's Anatomy is officially back and people (well, people on the Internet) have a lot of opinions. After April and Arizona tragically left us at the end of season 14, the writers clearly knew we needed something - or someone - to distract us from the heartbreak. Enter "Ortho God."
The show's new orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Atticus Lincoln (he prefers to go by "Link") is played by Nashville's Chris Carmack. But from day one - er, yesterday - everyone's been dubbing him the new and improved "Ortho God." While we don't know too much about him just yet, we caught a glimpse of him and his side-kick Dr. Nico Kim, played by Alex Landi, working on their patient, Nisha who compared her experience with the doctors to "heaven."
Clearly, Meredith Grey can relate:
But here's where things get heated: If you're a longtime viewer, you know that Callie, who left Grey-Sloan Memorial for New York at the end of season 12 - is the OG "OG." Personal drama aside - remember her short-lived marriage to George and custody battle with Arizona? - she was one of the most groundbreaking surgeons in Seattle (on television). Just the other day, actress Sara Ramirez hinted that she might return to the show.
Which makes the new "Ortho God" character way more complicated, according to the Internet:
And of course, when a new guy comes along, people have to put him in his place. More specifically, they remind him that he's nothin' compared McDreamy and McSteamy.
With that, people are making it clear that Meredith must not fall in love with him. Meredith, just keep dreaming about Andrew DeLuca, okay?
Keep in mind it's just the start of the season, which means there's a lot more to learn about this new guy. And hey, by now we've learned that even the characters we love to hate- re: Izzie - are the most exciting ones to watch.
Watch Grey's Anatomy on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
