You'll Need Tissues for This 'AGT' Performance
We can always count on America's Got Talent to fulfill our need for some primetime drama. Last night's episode was no exception: There was a creepy girl (like, actually), a dramatic golden buzzer moment, and a heartbreaking musical number by a sibling trio.
And we're still not over it.

Meet We Three, a Oregon-based band comprised of siblings Joshua (27), Bethany (24) and Manny Humlie (21). Joshua plays the piano and drums, Manny the guitar, and Bethany the bass. They wowed the judges with their performance of their original song, "Heaven's Not Too Far Away," a tribute to their mother who passed away from cancer in January 2016.

"It's a song written from her perspective talking to us in her last month," Manny explained. On their website, the band speaks about their mom's impact on their music. "Sadly their Mother passed away just over two years ago, but what might normally devastate and distract had the opposite effect in unifying the already intensely strong bond that makes We Three a musical rarity," they wrote. "Mom taught them to breathe; Dad taught them to play instruments." Cue the waterworks.
The song starts and ends with a heartbreaking line: "Honey I thought you should know that I'm in a hurry. I've got to move up to north but it's just temporary." And then it walks through their moms' hard-fought battle that ultimately took her life.

Since her passing, the band has found numerous ways to honor their mom's life - and America's Got Talent was their biggest stage yet. Their teary-eyed father looked on as the judges gave them rave reviews following a well-deserved standing ovation - and 4 "yes" votes to move on to the next round.
"We all have parents and we are parents -some of us. This was so strong. The best thing I can say was that I felt it," Howie Mandel said. But Mel B put her heart on the table, tears and all. "I lost my father over a year ago to cancer so I just felt like that song was meant for me and my dad was singing that to me," she said.

The singer and judge lost her father in March 2017 after a five-year battle with multiple myeloma. Following her father's death, America's Got Talent canceled two days of filming, according to TMZ.
Mel B wasn't the only one affected by the band's story and loss and love. Twitter users thanked the siblings for their vulnerability:
