'Trading Spaces' Designer Genevieve Gorder Posts Emotional Video About the Show's Return
After almost 10 years off the air, TLC announced they are bringing back one of its biggest hit shows, Trading Spaces, and original designer Genevieve Gorder could not be happier to be making a comeback.
"I've built a life around this show," she said in a Instagram post Thursday. "I'm so grateful. To all of you who watched us in the beginning – I hope you all come back, and I hope we bring in all of the next generation of kids who need to know what design is."
The design show, which pit two teams of neighbors against each other in a friendly competition to redecorate a room in each of their homes, originally aired from 2000 to 2008. Gorder was one of the designers that was rotated throughout the episodes from 2000 to 2003, and again on seasons that aired from 2005 to 2007.
She later went on to star in several design shows on HGTV, including Dear Genevieve, HGTV White House Christmas, and Genevieve's Renovation.
However, the interior designer is very excited to be returning to her TLC roots. "I hope you'll all watch the next season of Trading Spaces," she told fans on Instagram. "It's good to be back."
Gorder will be joining several other original designers and carpenters, including Brett Tutor, Joanie Srague, John Gidding, Kahi Lee and Sabrina Soto, according to TLC. An air date for the new season has not been announced.
