Here's Where to Get Drinks At The Magic Kingdom
When it opened in 1971, the Magic Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World had a strict policy banning alcohol. But now, People reports that every sit-down restaurant in the theme park now offers booze.
Disney announced in a blog post published Saturday that guests 21 and over can now order alcohol at three sit-down restaurants in the park. At The Plaza Restaurant, you can order American beer and wine, including a regional craft IPA. At The Crystal Palace, they’ll offer mimosas with breakfast and wine with the lunch and dinner buffets. And at The Diamond Horseshoe, you can order American beers and wines.
Six years ago, the first Magic Kingdom restaurant to offer alcohol was the Be Our Guest restaurant, themed after Beauty and the Beast. Now, with the addition of the previously mentioned three restaurants, every restaurant in the park offers some type of alcoholic drink, since other restaurants in the park already served wine and beer.
For example, Cinderella’s Royal Table offers mimosas, bellinis, and sangrias for breakfast, plus an extensive wine list for lunch and dinner. Tony’s Town Square on Main Street offers beers and Italian wines, while Liberty Tree Tavern has beer, cider, and wine. If you’re looking for hard alcohol, you’re out of luck in the entire park.
You still can’t get wine or beer at Magic Kingdom’s quick-service restaurants, and the no-booze policy still holds at Disneyland in California, though you can get a drink at California Adventure. And of course, the booziest Disney destination is still Epcot, where you can get specialty drinks at each country at the World Showcase. Drink around the world, anyone?
