This Is Apparently the Most Popular Day To Have Your Wedding This Year (And What the Date Means in Numerology!)
Numerologist Glynis McCants tells Parade why this date is especially appealing.
Once a couple becomes engaged (sometimes even long before!), wedding dates become a seemingly constant discussion. There are obviously many factors to consider and yet some dates are much more sought-after than others throughout the year. And in 2023? There's one date that is the most popular wedding date than any other.
We'll get to that. But while many people might think the only factors worth considering for a wedding involve the weather and/or time of year, numerologists like Glynis McCants (author of Love by the Numbers: How to Find Great Love or Reignite the Love You Have Through the Power of Numerology) believe there are other components to a perfect wedding date—numbers that are calculated from the date itself.
But first things first, let's see if you're attending (or holding!) a wedding on the most popular date of 2023.

What is the most popular wedding date in 2023?
According to The Knot, the most popular wedding date this year is September 23, 2023. Some aspects of this date are unsurprising. After all, Saturdays are the most popular day of the week for a wedding and September is a beautiful time of year around the country (plus, the weather is usually just right!). Also, the double use of "23" in this year's in-demand date will make the anniversary not only easy to remember, but gives it a special, unique flair as well.

What does the date mean in numerology?
So, 09/23/2023—what does it mean? According to McCants, it's a 5, 5, 3 date.
Wait a minute—how exactly does that work? "There are three numbers in a date," McCants explains to Parade. "So I take the month and day and reduce it to one digit. So nine plus two plus three is 14. One plus four is five. Then the actual day is the 23rd. Two plus three is five and then I take the full date—09/23/2023. When you add that straight across and reduce it to one digit, it's a three. This date is 5, 5, 3."
And what does that mean? "In numerology, fives and threes are the light," McCants says. "They celebrate life. It's about laughter, it's about communication." And it's no surprise to McCants why this is the most popular date of 2023. "I completely understand why that date is on fire right now," she shares. "Because it's exciting. It's fun. It's freedom. It's adventure. It's laughter. It's playful. And it is definitely a party."
While that means this day will definitely be an incredible, epic celebration, there are some things to keep in mind when it comes to prepping for the big event.
McCants continues: "But the five also means—and think about your own life—how often did you have a plan and wanted it to go perfectly and then something happened? You're like, 'I can't believe that happened.' Right? That's the five and that day has double fives—so, that just means to everyone who picked that date, they better plan perfectly. And when you pick those bridesmaids, make sure they're supportive of you. Because it turns into someone gets drunk and says something inappropriate, you know, a little bit of drama can show up on that day."

Advice for couples who are getting married on this day
"You need to make a list of everything you want to get done because it's going to be very easy to forget something," McCants explains. "So, let's pretend it's a destination wedding. Well, then something may go wrong, you know, you're at the airport, 'Oh my gosh, they lost my luggage,' right? So it's about paying attention to the detail. And then it's about being careful who you pick. Because you know, as a bride, we just get so excited, we want everyone to come, but sometimes someone in the party is jealous. You've seen it—they're like jealous of the bride because they don't have love, let's say. Well, you want to make sure on a 5, 5, 3 day that you pick the ones who adore you, like your true friends. Even if it's a smaller group, let it be a smaller group. I look at that day and go, 'Oh my gosh, that could be so much fun,' right up until somebody else wants to, like I said, get drunk, start crying... Anyone who wants to mess with the date can't be there."
But with the right planning and the right perspective, your day can absolutely still be the wedding of your dreams.
"It's just 'party on,' celebration," she reiterates. "And P.S., can you blame anybody? I mean, after the pandemic? Who wouldn't want that, right? It's like, 'I just want to have fun, I don't want to think about anything.'"
So, as long as you know that the day may not go completely according to plan in every aspect, you can sit back and have the most amazing time throwing a true party that everyone will be sure to enjoy and remember for years to come.
What to consider when choosing a wedding date
Maybe you're just attending a wedding in 2023 but find yourself envisioning your own future wedding down the road. Some people think about sentimental dates from the past, like the day of your first date or the time of year it was when you first said "I love you." But is there anything else to consider when you're trying to choose a romantic wedding date? McCants would give a resounding, "Yes!" and it involves learning your life path number and the life path number of your partner, and then seeing which dates are compatible.
"In Love by the Numbers, I lay out what's compatible and what isn't," she tells Parade. "But if we're just keeping it simple—there are packs of numbers. The basic numbers in numerology are one through nine. So, 1, 5, 7 is a pack—they're considered the mind numbers, they're very cerebral [and] always processing. 2, 4, 8? This is business minded—they want security. If they are working and getting a paycheck, that's when they're happiest. And then 3, 6, 9? Creative. They're the ones who are expressing themselves."
What does this mean for wedding dates? McCants explains, "So, [for] example, let's say I'm a three and my partner's a six. Well, then we want to pick a date that has that energy in it. We'd want to pick 3, 6, 9—as a three [and] six, if we pick a date that adds up to nine, that's almost like saying, 'We completed each other that day,' you know, when we vowed to say 'I do.'"
That's just covering the very basics, however. According to McCants, "Each person has a Numerology Blueprint made up of six numbers. When you look at an engaged couple's Numerology Chart Comparison, it is wise to pick numbers that they share in their Numerology Blueprints when it comes to picking the perfect wedding date."

What number is the most romantic for weddings, according to numerology?
"Number two [is] my favorite number in numerology for a wedding because it means 'we love each other,'" McCants shares. "You know, it's emotional, like 'I love you enough to say I do.' So that's my favorite number to put in a wedding date."
An easy way to pick a date with the number two? An easy way to pick a date with the number two? Get married on a day that breaks down to the two, such as the 2nd, 11th, 20th or 29th. In 2023, there are three Saturdays that fall on the 11th—taking place in February, March and November.
In 2024, Saturday, May 11 would provide a "2 energy" in your wedding date numerology. And in 2025, you could incorporate this number on either Saturday, January 11, or Saturday, October 11.
There are definitely other ways to incorporate a two in your wedding date, like in the date 09/02/2023, for example—the month and day added together equals 11/2, and the actual day is a two as well!
