Archie’s Canceled 1st Birthday Party Was Going to Double as a “Welcome to L.A.” Bash
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have officially canceled Archie’s 1st birthday party.
The party was originally going to double as a “welcome to L.A.” bash.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently living in Los Angeles, where they’re gearing up to celebrate Archie’s 1st birthday. The couple had hoped to host a big party for their son, but they’ve obviously scrapped those plans due to social distancing measures. However, the Daily Mail has some tea about what the party would have been like.
Apparently, Meghan and Harry had planned to mix Archie’s party with a “welcome to L.A.” ~bash~, but a source says, “Their close-knit friend group will have plenty of other opportunities moving forward to come together. There are other events lined up throughout the rest of the year.”
The source also emphasizes, “There is no way that Harry and Meghan could or would even consider throwing a party for family and friends. As special as Archie turning 1 is, now is the time to take safety more seriously than ever.” That said, “It’s a shame because Archie’s birthday, without the lockdown, offered the perfect opportunity to host a ‘welcome to L.A.’ bash for them and their friends.”
According to the Daily Mail, Meghan and Harry would have invited a slew of celebrity friends to the party, who include “James Corden, Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Idris Alba, Tom Hardy, Serena Williams, Elton John, and George and Amal Clooney.” But a source tells Us Weekly that the party will now be “just the three of them,” as Meghan wisely “refuses to take any risks.”
