Ariana Grande Gets Dramatic at Oscars in Pink Giambattista Valli Couture Dress With Puff Sleeves and Train on the Red Carpet
The stars who arrived to the red carpet of the 2024 Oscars took inspiration from various places for their respective fashion statements. This year, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande used their Oscar dresses as a sartorial nod to their characters in the forthcoming film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical “Wicked.”
Grande wore a custom Giambattista Valli gown in a soft pink color. The strapless, fitted dress featured dramatic details such as a long train and sleeves. Grande, who plays Glinda, accessorized with Jimmy Choo’s Romy pumps and jewels from Tiffany & Co. She was styled by Mimi Cuttrell.

Erivo, who plays Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, wore a Louis Vuitton gown in a deep green hue with a matching bolero. The lamb leather gown featured dramatic ruffles cascading down the back and a short train. Erivo was styled by Jason Bolden.
The “Harriet” Oscar nominee was joined in “Wicked” style inspiration by her co-star Grande.
Erivo and Grande co-lead the upcoming “Wicked,” directed by Jon M. Chu. The musical film adaptation tells the story of how Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of the West and how Glinda became the Good Witch of the North. The musical debuted on Broadway in 2003 and won three Tony Awards.
The 96th Academy Awards is the most highly anticipated awards show of the year. Jimmy Kimmel returns to host the Oscars for the fourth time. All five Best Original Song nominees will perform live on ABC, including renditions of “I’m Just Ken” featuring Ryan Gosling, “What Was I Made For” by Billie Eilish, Becky G’s performance of “The Fire Inside,” “It Never Went Away” by Jon Batiste, and a performance of “Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People)” by Scott George featuring the Osage Singers.
