Arnold Schwarzenegger, 76, Confirms He Beat Out Jason Momoa, 44, for Latest Action Role
76-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday to promote his new, high-octane action picture, confirming in the process that he beat out 44-year-old Aquaman star Jason Momoa for the coveted role. Fallon rolled a clip of Momoa congratulating the Terminator for landing the gig in Agent State Farm.
“I can't believe it. Congratulations Arnold, you beat me,” Momoa began. “I thought I was gonna get that role, [but] my agent called me today and told me you got it. So congratulations on Agent State Farm, I’m sure the movie’s gonna be amazing,” he continued.
Momoa then shot his shot, more or less inviting himself to the premiere to meet Schwarzenegger. “Brother, it would be an honor to come to the premiere, cuz we’ve never met. All my aloha, I wanna meet you!” the actor signed off.
While Schwarzenegger and Momoa haven’t met, they’re connected somewhat intimately through their careers. Momoa had his breakout film role as the eponymous character in 2011’s Conan the Barbarian, a role Schwarzenegger originated in 1982 and which similarly shot him to fame.

Schwarzenegger was nothing if not gracious, teasing the audience that a proper collaboration between Momoa and himself may not be far off.
“In all fairness, I did not beat him out,” Schwarzenegger clarified. “The way I feel about it is, I want him to be a part of this great action movie because he’s the greatest action star today.”
The actor continued of Momoa: “He’s such a wonderful actor, so easy to work with, he has such a great reputation. I’ve never met him, but I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
Schwarzenegger is plenty excited for fans to see Agent State Farm, which he promises will be “a monster movie” despite its official status as a 60-second Super Bowl spot.
“Just like traditional Schwarzenegger action movies, [it has] explosions, action, fight scenes, blow-ups, special effects, great entertainment,” the star promised. “And not just for America, for the whole world! This is unbelievable what they put together here.”
Agent State Farm “premieres” just before the second quarter of the Super Bowl on February 11. You can check out the poster below, and see Schwarzenegger's Tonight Show appearance here.
