Arnold Schwarzenegger Wore a 'Terminator'-Inspired Face Mask While on a Bike Ride
Arnold Schwarzenegger has a simple message for a world grappling with unprecedented times: “We’ll be back.” And he's delivering that Terminator-like message through a responsible, social distancing-approved face mask.
Schwarzenegger took public safety measures seriously while on a recent bicycle ride, wearing a black face mask decorated with the words “We’ll Be Back" in white Terminator-like font. The 72-year-old actor, former bodybuilder and previous California governor was spotted out in the mask on April 17 in Brentwood, CA.
But the tribute to Schwarzenegger’s character isn’t only an unexpectedly heartening statement in a scary time. It’s also a message to at-risk youth.
Schwarzenegger is selling the exact face mask via his online store. All net profits from the mask sales will go to After-School All-Stars, a non-profit organization Schwarzenegger founded in 1992. The program provides free after-school programs to “keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life," according to its website. These programs—which include arts education, STEM training and fitness development—are currently on hiatus as schools around the nation are closed.
“With schools closed, we can’t provide our normal programming for our 100,000 kids, but we take our commitment to our families seriously so we are pivoting to use our after-school staff to deliver groceries to our families,” Schwarzenegger writes on his online store.
The masks cost $12.99 a piece, helping you channel The Terminator and do some good at the same time. Even while channeling a cyborg assassin, Schwarzenegger truly is a big softy.
