Asa Butterfield, Justice Smith and Victoria Pedretti Join Cast of If She Burns

Alex Wolff is set to direct his sophomore feature film If She Burns, which he will also star in.

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) revealed in the exclusive that the film follows a fiery young woman who travels to Europe with her dysfunctional family after a traumatic incident. There she finds refuge and danger in a turbulent affair with her enigmatic neighbor, which, along with increasing family tensions and mysterious wildfires, threaten to push her to breaking point.

Victoria Pedretti, Asa Butterfield and Justice Smith will also star in the psychological thriller, which will be produced by Jay Van Hoy, who has previously worked on Robert Eggers' The VVitch and The Lighthouse and Andra Gordon.

Wolff will wear many hats on the production, not only directing and starring but also producing and will partner with Karl McComas-Reichl to write and produce music for the film. He said, "I'm exhilarated to embark on a journey with such remarkable, brave actors like Victoria, Asa and Justice. What we put on screen will be daring, ferocious, tender, and honest. I'm honored to be able to share it," as per THR.

The film will be shot in Italy in 2024.
