Asheville restaurant named one of the most romantic places to dine in the U.S.
ASHEVILLE - Romance is in the air and one Asheville restaurant is serving it up in spades.
On Jan. 31, OpenTable, an online reservation site, released its list of the Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in America for 2024 to assist diners with discovering destinations for date night.
More than 12 million diner reviews and metrics were analyzed to narrow down the search to 100 restaurants across the nation, according to OpenTable.
Five North Carolina restaurants were selected, including one located in Asheville.
JOLO Winery & Vineyards, Pilot Mountain.
Madison’s at Old Edwards Inn and Spa, Highlands.
Ryan’s Restaurant, Winston-Salem.
Steak 48, Charlotte.
The Dining Room at Biltmore Estate, Asheville.
Guests visiting Biltmore House and the estate of the famed George Vanderbilt may dine at any of its six restaurants or other food and beverage concepts, but the most romantic dining experience is found at The Dining Room at The Inn on Biltmore Estate.
The Inn, which received a four-star rating from Forbes for the 23rd consecutive year, is hailed for its first-rate dining experience and views across the picturesque 8,000-acre property and of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Dining Room’s elegant décor and furnishings include a grandiose fireplace and intricately designed chandeliers. The table settings elevate the guests’ experience with table settings of linen tablecloths, fine china and crystal.
A “dress to impress” standard is set by a dress code requiring “resort elegant attire” for dinner guests.
The Dining Room's menu incorporates ingredients sourced locally ― as close as the estate’s farms, gardens and pastures ― and applied to an array of entrées from steaks and seafood to hand-crafted pasta dishes, and desserts to pair with its award-winning wine list.
The Dining Room has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 17 consecutive years.
OpenTable users gave high rankings and reviews to The Dining Room with mentions of the quality of fare, service and ambience.
The Dining Room received 4.8 stars for food, 5 stars for service, 4.8 stars for ambience and 4.4 stars for value, based on a 5-star rating system.
The Dining Room is open to Biltmore Estate guests ― reservations via OpenTable are encouraged ― for dinner service. Or visit for a casual meal for breakfast, afternoon tea service, or for drinks from the bar.

Take a stroll through Biltmore Gardens or book a wine and chocolate tasting at Biltmore Winery.
Or visit "Chihuly at Biltmore," an exhibition celebrating works by the famed glass and multimedia artist Dale Chihuly, which opens on March 25 and will run through Jan. 5 at Amherst at Deerpark. The intimate exhibit will feature pedestal works, drawings, and large-scale installations.
