Ashley Graham just threw some major shade at Victoria's Secret
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is known for its sparkly runways, flashy undergarments, and, of course, massive feathery wings. That’s why it seemed totally believable that Ashley Graham would make an appearance. On Sunday night, Graham posted an Instagram of herself looking like a Victoria’s Secret Angel with with a caption that seemed to indicate the brand finally introduced a plus size model into its lineup. But within five minutes of the initial post, it was clear that the news was too good to be true.
“Got my wings!” the caption on the post read, shared just hours before the live show took place in Shanghai on Monday. The Instagram swiftly received a huge response of congratulatory replies for the 30-year-old model.
Got my wings! .. my #AdditionElle wings! #thickthighssavelives

However, Graham quickly changed her caption after faking followers out. “…my #AdditionElle wings!” Graham added to the statement, including the hashtag #thickthighssavelives.
The photo, pulled from the September 2016 Addition Elle runway, was photoshopped to give Graham honorary wings. The model has previously revealed she would say yes to be included in the VS show and posted something similar to Instagram last year.
Watching the angels tonight like..

In the recently re-launched #ImNoAngel campaign with Lane Bryant that Graham appears in, she made it clear that until Victoria’s Secret begins including size 12 and above models in their show, it’s a runway she’s continued to be excluded from.
“VS has nothing on you!” one person commented in response to the Instagram, while another admitted, “what I wish I was seeing on the runway of Victoria’s Secret!!” But regardless of if that someday happens, Graham is making it known that you don’t need to be on that runway in order to have a pair of wings of your own.
