Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Director Drops Out

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty could be in trouble. One of Marvel’s next big tentpole movies, which is set for a May 1, 2026 release, is haemorrhaging talent fast.

The latest loss is arguably its biggest: director Destin Daniel Cretton. The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker will reportedly focus his efforts on a sequel to that movie, leaving Avengers: The Kang Dynasty with an uncertain future.
