'Bachelor' Alum Shares Devastating News Following Baby's Premature Birth

The Bachelor alum Sarah Herron is dealing with an immensely devastating loss.
Late Wednesday (Feb. 1) night, the former reality show star announced the heartbreaking news that her and fiancé Dylan Brown's baby boy passed away shortly after being born prematurely on Jan. 28.
In the harrowing Instagram post, it was revealed that Herron—who conceived via IVF—gave birth at just 24 weeks pregnant, resulting in the tragedy.
"On January 28th, at 24 weeks old, our beautiful son Oliver Brown was born. He passed away in his dad’s arms shortly after," she opened the social media caption, adding, "There are no words for the magnitude of loss and pain we’re experiencing. It’s beautiful and simultaneously tragic. He had my nose and his dad’s mouth and long fingers."
She continued, noting that her "IVF miracle defied so many odds and fought through so many hard milestones to be here, but the higher powers still had other plans" for the three of them.
Alongside the deeply sad news, Herron shared several snaps in the carousel upload, including some joyful ones from the pregnancy, as well as a couple other emotional captures from the overwhelmingly hard time at the hospital.

The 36-year-old proceeded with the tearful statement: "Our time together was short, but we are grateful for the days we had with Oliver in my belly. He has taught us so much about the integrity of life, love and death. Oliver filled our home and hearts with so much love and most importantly, optimism. The stars aligned to create Baby Oliver with a deep, meaningful purpose bigger than we’ll ever understand. His body was small, but his legacy will always be larger than life to us."
Many fans, in addition to her Bachelor Nation family, dropped lengthy encouraging comments under the post, while several others kept it simple by "sending love" and condolences, writing, "so sorry for your loss."
"While our hearts are shattered beyond comprehension, we are comforted knowing that our son’s soul only ever knew love and will not suffer in a body that wasn’t built for this life. We’ll never understand the cruelty of it all, but through the darkness, Oliver remains so so bright. We love you so much, baby boy. You will never be replaced. You are so perfect and awesome," she concluded the caption, before signing the message, "Love, Mommy and Daddy."
Herron initially appeared on Season 17 of The Bachelor and returned for the first season of Bachelor in Paradise. She and filmmaker Dylan Brown announced their engagement in May 2021, after four years of dating.
