Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. Proposes Again—This Time to Lauren Burnham
This is bonkers. The Bachelor’s After the Final Rose special was packed with activity on Tuesday, March 6, featuring a first-time reunion between Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his ex Becca Kufrin since he unceremoniously dumped her on national television, along with the formal announcement of Kufrin as the next Bachelorette. However, what fans didn’t anticipate was a proposal during the two-hour second part of the season 22 finale.
Luyendyk dropped to one knee before cameras—once again—during the special, this time asking his initial runner-up Burnham to marry him. And, the sales executive, 26, said yes.
“I’ve made some bad decisions,” the race car driver mused in the final few minutes of his sit-down with Chris Harrison. “But the best decision was running back to you. I can’t imagine a life without you.”
The lead then popped the all-important question… for the second time. “I truly believe you are my soulmate. I’m ready to face this life with you, and all that comes with it… The good, and the bad,” he continued. “I love you so much. I wanted to do this in front everyone because I want to show you that I should have done this a long time ago. Lauren Elizabeth Burnham, will you marry me?”

She replied, “Definitely!”
Harrison then chimed in on the topic and jokingly jabbed at Luyendyk’s second attempt. “I hope this engagement lasts a longer time!” he quipped.
Burnham, meanwhile, has been fully supportive of her fiance since he pulled the swap. She revealed Tuesday that she will soon move to Scottsdale, Arizona, to join Luyendyk at his home base. “I’ve never been more in love with him,” she expressed. “We’re very, very happy.”

She added, “I think he is great, but the one thing that is present right now to me is just his bravery and his honesty… I think that he did an amazing job at handling this whole thing, and he couldn’t have gone about it in a more respectful way, and I’m really proud of him.”
