'The Bachelor' Contestant Ariel Frenkel Has Literally Traveled The Globe

Tall, handsome Zach Shallcross won over Bachelor Nation last year when he starred as one of Rachel Recchia’s final contestants on her season of The Bachelorette but, alas, their love wasn’t meant to be. Now, Zach is the star of the 27th season of The Bachelor and if the teaser trailer is any indication, it’s about to be a good one.
This time around, 27 women will vie for Zach’s heart and, of course, everyone wants to know who he's going to choose. One contestant who is already generating a lot of early buzz is the one and only Ariel Frenkel.
But who is Ariel Frenkel, and what do you need to know as everyone dives into season 27? Here’s the rundown on this Bachelor contestant.
Ariel Frenkel is 'unapologetically herself.'
Ariel is a contestant on Zach’s season of The Bachelor, and she’s apparently into karaoke (literally, her Instagram bio just says “karaoke”). She also describes herself as “adventurous, sophisticated, [and] unapologetically herself," according to her official Bachelor bio. Also worth noting, that last phrase is usually code for “not afraid of drama.”
More fun facts: She loves to dance to ABBA and read Architectural Digest, hates tarantulas, and comes from a “big Ukrainian family,” according to her bio.
She is 28 years old.
Ariel is 28 years old, per her Bachelor bio. Zach is 26, so she’s coming in with a slightly older (and wiser?) perspective.
Ariel grew up in New York City.
Yup, she calls the Big Apple home, according to her official bio. On the other hand, Zach is from Fullerton, California, which has a decidedly smaller population or 143,617 people and a totally different ~vibe~ than NYC.
Will these two end up being a bicoastal couple? Only time will tell!
She works as a marketing consultant.
Ariel’s LinkedIn lists her as a freelance marketing consultant, a gig she’s held since June of 2022. Before that, she worked at the Financial Times as a B2C account planner.
Ariel attended George Washington University.
The college is located in Washington, D.C., and she listed in her LinkedIn bio that her expected graduation date was 2016. Ariel pursued a degree in organizational sciences, and she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority in school.
Ariel travels a *lot*.
Ariel’s Bachelor bio made sure to mention this, noting that she is a “woman of the world” who has “traveled everywhere, from Europe to Asia to South America and more!”

She went to cooking school.
Well, kind of. Ariel took a summer culinary course in Florence, Italy, at the Apicius School of Culinary Arts in 2012, according to her LinkedIn. While it’s not full-on culinary school, Ariel’s LinkedIn bio says she “learned how to prepare Italian cuisine by region,” so she probably knows her way around a kitchen.
