‘Bachelor’ Contestant Loses It Over Bottle of Champagne in New Episode

5 min read

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Last week on the season 24 premiere of The Bachelor, Peter Weber asked Hannah Brown to join the show after she confessed her feelings for the 28-year-old pilot.

And now, all hell breaks loose when someone accidentally opens a coveted bottle of Champagne. Here’s what went down in episode two of The Bachelor.

1. Closure with Hannah Brown

The episode picks up right where we left off in the season premiere, with Weber contemplating whether he should let Brown stay.

“I can’t help what I feel. I just do,” he says. “You were the one that said no to me. I never said no to you.”

Brown explains that she made some decisions on The Bachelorette that she’s not proud of. Although she feels regret, she needs him to know how she feels.

Meanwhile, the women are growing suspicious, since Weber and Brown are MIA. (ICYMI: They’re on a group date, which the former Bachelorette is supposed to be hosting.)

Backstage, Weber is annoyingly torn. “I don’t know what to do right now. At all,” he says, which prompts Brown to climb onto his lap to give him a “hug.” (And yes, Weber’s jeans are now covered in sparkles, thanks to her dress.)

After a long pause, Weber finally says, “I can’t do this.” And then returns to the group.

2. The Overshadowed Group Date

When Weber finds the women, he pulls them into a separate room “to talk.” He explains that he and Brown got unexpectedly emotional while “getting some stuff off our chests.” The pilot apologizes before revealing that he can’t continue with the group date. Womp, womp.

“I’m not in the right head space to have fun with you guys and enjoy this. I feel horrible because this is not fair to you guys at all,” he says.

Despite their horrified reactions, the date isn’t a total bust. In fact, Weber meets up with the women later that night at the after-party after he “cleared” his head. But the mood is tense. Not only does every interaction revolve around Brown, but some of the women—like Natasha—are questioning Weber altogether.

At the end of the night, Weber gives the rose to Sydney, who wooed him with her vulnerability.

3. A 'Snake' & a Rose Ceremony

The next day, the contestants are ready for war. And by war, we mean the cocktail party, where desperation kicks in. It all starts when Kelsey arranges a sit-down date during the cocktail party, so she can “pop” a bottle of Champagne she’s been saving…for years.

Right when Kelsey grabs Weber, Mykenna steals him away. So, Kelsey confronts Mykenna later that night, claiming she’s a “snake.”

“I feel like you disrespected me,” she says. “And you don’t really care. You don’t.” Kelsey gets so upset that she requires a “concealer touchup” during the cocktail party. It’s during this time that Weber and Hannah Ann walk over to the fireplace, spot Kelsey’s bottle of Champagne and open it. Classic mix-up!

When Kelsey finds out, she’s beside herself and storms off in tears. “That was supposed to be my moment,” she says. “And she took that from me.”

Kelsey confronts Hannah Ann, who claims she had no idea it was her bottle of Champagne. When the producers give Kelsey another bottle, she tries to be cool in front of Weber and suggests they drink it with no glasses.

“I’m not a classy b**** all the time,” Kelsey jokes before drinking from the bottle, which explodes in her face, soaking her face and hair. LOL.

At the rose ceremony, Weber hands out roses to everyone but Lauren, Payton and Courtney. On the bright side, there’s always Bachelor in Paradise.

4. The Group Date

The next day, a group date card arrives, and it’s addressed to Alexa, Mykenna, Natasha, Deandra, Lexi, Victoria F., Kelsey and Hannah Ann. This time, he takes them to a Revolve pop-up shop, where they’re greeted by Carson Kressley and Janice Dickinson. They task the contestants with competing in a runway show in front of a live studio audience.

Everyone seems to thrive on the catwalk, particularly Hannah Ann who walks the runway in a wedding dress. The only one who seems to be struggling is Victoria F., claiming she doesn’t have confidence like the other girls.

“I think it’s hard for me to stand out in a group setting,” she says. “I’m trying, it’s just really hard.”

Of course, that all changes by her second runway walk, when she throws on lingerie and grabs Weber for a quick make out sesh. Hannah Ann ends up winning, with Victoria in a close second place.

5. The Aftermath

Later that night, the group meets up for the after-party, and there are two major takeaways. First, Victoria is still upset about the runway show, since she feels like she can’t compete with Hannah Ann.

When she pulls aside Weber, she admits that she doesn’t know if she’s “made out for this,” since it’s affecting her mental health. The pilot reassures her, saying she wouldn’t be here if he didn’t think highly of her. Of course, Victoria walks away with the group date rose.

And second, Hannah Ann says she feels “bullied” by Kelsey about the Champagne, potentially threatening Kelsey’s future on the show.

“That’s not OK with me at all,” Weber says.

So, he pulls Kelsey aside and confronts her. Kelsey denies any wrongdoing, though she’s adamant that Hannah Ann purposely drank the Champagne. Weber doesn’t know what to do, since there are two sides to the story.

Then, they return to the group, leaving Kelsey to dwell in her hatred for Hannah Ann.

Whose side will Weber take? Guess we’ll have to wait until The Bachelor returns to ABC next Monday, January 20, at 8 p.m.
