'The Bachelor' Glitch Ruins Live Finale Date Scene, Infuriates Fans

Viewers rushed to twitter to find out what they were missing.

The Bachelor suffered a major glitch during ABC’s live telecast of the season 27 finale featuring Zach Shallcross.

Monday’s three-hour episode showed Zach choosing between Kaity Biggar and Gabi Elnicki during the taped portion of the show. The three also discussed the emotional ending live in front of a studio audience as part of the traditional “After the Final Rose” segment.

But midway through the episode, during Gabi’s final one-on-one date with Zach, the audio went off.

Viewers could see Zach and Gabi horseback riding and hanging out on the beach in romantic Thailand, but couldn’t hear them.

Fans were confused and went wild talking about it on Twitter.

One user named Paige wrote, "ABC control room rn trying to get back the audio" with a funny clip attached of people frantically running around.

A Twitter account called TheBachBabes snarked, "This episode airing in PURE SILENCE is truly the most dramatic thing to ever happen on this show."

Another The Bachelor fan named Emily tweeted, with a photo of a woman leaning over and staring, "Me going to Twitter wondering if my tv is broken."

The sound came back on briefly during the glitch, but then failed again as viewers wondered what was up.

ABC then cut to commercials, and when The Bachelor resumed, the sound was back!

Later, when host Jesse Palmer returned for a live segment, he apologized about the audio problem and assured viewers they hadn’t missed anything.

As Parade has reported, Zach ultimately picked Kaity over Gabi.

Was the airing of Gabi’s date scene just as cursed as her relationship with Zach?

Gabi said on “After the Final Rose” that she was “humiliated” by being dumped by the hunk after they had slept together in their fantasy suite. Zach chose to tell Kaity he had been intimate with another woman, which devastated Gabi.

Perhaps he could just not HEAR her!
