Former 'Bachelorette' Becca Kufrin reveals she's freezing her eggs after split from Garrett Yrigoyen
Becca Kufrin is opening up about her decision to undergo IVF in order to freeze her eggs just after her split from fiancé Garrett Yrigoyen in September.
The former Bachelorette star, 30, shared videos to her Instagram stories on Tuesday evening where she showed herself doing injections into her own stomach. The following day, she hopped back onto social media to explain just what she was doing.
“I am in the process of freezing my eggs and last night was the first night for the shots, but I figure I want to try to document it and share it with you guys as much as I can because I think it’s so important as women that we know about our bodies and our options,” she shared. “And for me, I’m not old but I’m not a spring chicken and I want kids one day but not anytime soon. So I figured why not do it now in quarantine?”
Kufrin got engaged to Yrigoyen, the winner of her Bachelorette season, in August 2018. The two later moved in together in California and adopted a dog. Although the couple wasn’t in any rush to marry or start a family, according to Kufrin, she seems to be taking steps to keep her options open for the future now that she is single. And she’s turning to her Instagram community to get her through it.
“It’s really not so bad, it doesn’t hurt. But the hard part is actually pushing it through your skin,” Kufrin said, while sharing details about the injections. “We’re stronger than we think, girls. Keep sharing your stories with me because I’m gonna keep you updated on this little journey that I’m on, too.”
