Bachelorette partygoer arrested after telling police she 'went psycho,' trashed Airbnb
A woman was arrested for trashing an Airbnb house after she drank two bottles of wine and said she “went psycho.”
Alexandra F. Cheety, 29, was arrested in Tennessee on a felony charge for vandalism on Thursday.
According to an arrest affidavit provided to Yahoo Lifestyle by the Criminal Court Clerk of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County, police officers found her sitting on the front steps of her Airbnb, located in Nashville, bleeding from her right foot.
Cheety told officers that she was from New Jersey and was in town for a bachelorette party. She said that she had rented the Airbnb house she damaged.
The young woman, according to the arrest affidavit, claimed she drank two bottles of wine and “went psycho.” Because of how intoxicated she was, she couldn’t fully explain what happened, but officers believe that she kicked through the windows with her bare feet when she couldn’t get into the house — which is likely what caused the injury on her foot.
Officers estimate the total damage of the Airbnb to add up to approximately $1,900. The affidavit describes smashed front windows and broken lamps, chairs and blinds, plus a flipped coffee table and other furniture strewn around the house.
Airbnb issued a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle on the incident.
“The reported behavior is completely inappropriate. We have suspended the guest’s account as we investigate, and we are in touch with the host to offer our support,” the statement says.
Cheety was transported to Skyline Medical Center for treatment of her foot, and is now being held at Hill Detention Center at a bond of $2,500.
