The Oscars traded in a traditional red carpet for a champagne-colored alternative this year, but that’s not the only color choice that contributed to making every celebrity look incredible. The backdrop—a seemingly very light blush hue—made everyone in their glamorous outfits who crossed the 900-foot carpet pop.

While it’s not confirmed if the backdrop color is thanks to a specific paint, seamless paper, or another trick of the trade, the combination of neutral wall and flooring shades ensured every dolled-up celebrity was able to better stand out. The red stripes on the wall (along with the surrounding red drapery) maintained the customary color of the pre-show event, and golden Oscar wall accents set a minimal look that didn't distract from those posing in front of it. Beautiful and impeccably styled stars, from Angela Bassett wearing a purple gown to Sandra Oh in orange (and the many wearing white), looked even more unbelievable standing against the background.

Should you hope to recreate a similar setup in your home—whether to take a solo photoshoot red carpet-style or simply to give your home an airy refresh—we suggest going with Benjamin Moore's Warm Blush or Farrow & Ball's Tailor Tack. And if you could use some inspiration, take a look at these off-white paint colors that interior designers adore. They'll fill any room with a touch of warmth.
