Bad Bunny made a suave debut at the 96th Academy Awards.

The rapper appeared onstage at Los Angeles’s Dolby Theatre tonight to present the award for Best International Feature Film alongside Dwayne Johnson. (The Oscar went to The Zone of Interest, directed by Jonathan Glazer.)

For the occasion, he wore a black double-breasted tuxedo by Gucci, which he paired with a diamond necklace, thin rectangular glasses, and glossy black dress shoes.

Bunny is amongst tonight’s slate of A-lister presenters, which also includes the likes of Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lawrence, Anya Taylor-Joy, Lupita Nyong'o, and Michelle Yeoh. Tonight also marks his first-ever attendance at the prestigious awards ceremony.

The musician previously talked about his experimental sense of fashion in an interview for Harper's Bazaar's September 2022 cover story.

“I’m taking advantage of this moment in my life when I can do whatever I want and wear what I want, so I get to live life more authentically,” he said. “I don’t do it to become more famous or to call attention or to disrespect anyone. People on the outside can think that I have a strategy or I wear this to call for attention, but in reality I just know who I am.”

Bunny has had a jam-packed past year, making headlines with the release of his fifth studio album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Ma?ana, his headlining performance at Coachella, and his buzzy romance with supermodel Kendall Jenner (though the two ultimately split in December).

“My goal will be to do things that I enjoy, never to be a billionaire or whatever,” Bunny continued in his Bazaar interview. “If I don’t feel passionate about something, then I’m not going to do it, no matter how much it is. But, hey, if we get to a billion one day, then we get to a billion.”
