The Bagel Nook is opening another Monmouth County location. Here's where to find it
Just like their iconic bagels, The Bagel Nook has "overloaded" Monmouth County with locations.
After just announcing a new opening in Aberdeen, The Bagel Nook — known for "Overload" bagels stuffed with everything from Oreo to cookie dough cream cheeses — will be opening a location in Middletown.
The new store will be at 1868 Route 35 South, next to popular Mexican restaurant Casa Calaveras.

The Middletown location, which should open by August, will see the debut of new menu items like a line of flavored lemonades, as well as frozen coffee drinks called "Nookuccinos," in flavors like Oreo birthday cake, caramel and M&Ms.
Alex Berkowitz and his father, David Berkowitz, opened their first Bagel Nook in 2015 in Freehold Township. Others followed in Princeton and Las Vegas, and a second Freehold Township store opened last year.
"We think Middletown is a great town with new revamped shopping centers," Alex said. "There's a big sense of community we felt vibed with our ... brand."

The Middletown spot, like the second Freehold Township location, is operated by Old Bridge residents Limor and David Shekhter (David is a Manalapan native).
Limor, who works in the stores, has been in corporate hospitality for over 20 years, serving as director of operations for Chick-fil-A, as well as director of operations for Don’t Tell Mama, a nightclub in New York City.
Traditionalists can get sesame, egg or everything bagels with plain cream cheese at the bagel shops, but The Bagel Nook is known for its flavors. Alex and David started out making small-batch cream cheeses in flavors like birthday cake, cotton candy, s'mores, maple bacon, olive, and jalapeno cheddar before adding more adventurous varieties including cool ranch, coffee, ghost pepper, cannoli, and peanut butter swirl.
They also offer more than 50 types of bagels in crazy flavors like Captain Crunch and Cheetos.
“It’s the wow factor," Berkowitz said in a previous interview. "We love seeing it on people’s faces. One of the best things we see is when we put something crazy in front of someone, and their face lights up.”
