A Chicago bakery is selling "Go Vote Smash Cakes" for those who need a little something to help take the edge off of this election season. If watching the news makes you want to just get up and smash something, the West Town Bakery hopes their cakes will be just the thing.

Smash cakes are a popular concept used most often in baby photoshoots. For early birthdays, extravagant cakes will be set in front of little ones for them to smash and eat messily at their leisure. Of course, the concept has been reiterated in creative ways—like this baby back rib smash—and these election-themed cakes allow adults to take their anger about the current state of our world on a baked good. Once they're destroyed, they can always be eaten too.

West Town Bakery is making the cakes in two versions, with images of either President Donald Trump or Vice President Mike Pence (...and the fly from the recent Vice Presidential debate). The cakes are vanilla with vanilla frosting and are four inches in diameter. They feature sprinkles and icing for extra smashing pleasure and have "smash me" written on the side.

A portion of the proceeds from the cakes, which go for about $15 each, will benefit the ACLU of Illinois 2020 Election: Let People Vote Campaign. This campaign is helping voters in Illinois get access to voting by mail amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

West Town Bakery's website asks that you order these smash cakes 72 hours in advance so their team can keep up with demand. They will be available to order through Election Day. If you wish to customize your cake's flavors, size, or design, you can reach out to [email protected].
