This Bakery Is Selling Donuts With Dr. Anthony Fauci’s Face On Them
The news around the COVID-19 outbreak is constantly changing, but information about food safety and how to keep yourself healthy is crucial right now. Here is a comprehensive list on the foods you should be stocking up on during this period of social distancing, as well as information about your local grocery stores’ changing hours, an explanation of “no-contact delivery,” and a guide on how to help your community and its businesses throughout closures.
If you don’t know who Dr. Anthony Fauci is by now, let me clue you in: He’s one of the nation’s leading disease experts who everyone looks to for the latest info on the current coronavirus pandemic. To pay tribute to the man, a bake shop is selling donuts with his face on them–that’s how you know you’ve truly made it in your line of work, right?
Donuts Delite in Rochester, NY, shared photos of their latest donut offering on Facebook. The donuts feature a nice, edible profile shot of Fauci in his work clothes. It’s a typical plain donut with white frosting and blue sprinkles. Bonus: It can be filled with any type of filling you want if you're into that. The shop is offering the donuts for take-out, curbside pickup, and contactless delivery within Monroe County. Unfortunately, though, they don't ship.
The shop has already made thousands of these Fauci donuts–people can’t get enough. “Right now, we’re selling over 100 an hour at least,” the shop’s owner Nick Semeraro told ABC News’ 13WHAM: “We had no idea they would blow up like that.”
The shop will continue to produce the beloved donuts for as long as possible. Ideally, they’ll still be available when the world doesn’t have to practice social distancing so that non-locals can visit. But alas, life’s unpredictable. Non-locals can enjoy the sight and sentiment of these, at least!
