Are Banks Open on Good Friday? Find Out if You Can Stop In Before the Easter Holiday
Good Friday is a religious holiday that recognizes the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. It always falls on the Friday right before Easter Sunday, and this year, Good Friday falls on March 29, 2024. There are a wide number of denominations in the Christian faith that recognize Good Friday with fasting, deep prayer and other special church services.
Despite many practicing Christians' observation of the holiday, Good Friday does not warrant a day off of work or school for most. This may have you asking: "Are banks open on Good Friday?" It can get confusing, and if you’re planning a Good Friday bank trip, you don’t want to show up only for locked bank doors to greet you.
Good Friday may be an important holiday of the Christian faith, but it is not observed as a federal holiday. So, what does that mean for last-minute errands to run before your Easter festivities? Don’t worry—we are answering all of your burning questions to better help you prepare during Holy Week!

New Year's Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Presidents Day
Juneteenth
Independence Day
