Barack Obama wore a black bomber jacket with '44' on the sleeve and the internet is obsessed
Unless he’s wearing a tan suit, it’s not often that Barack Obama‘s wardrobe causes a stir. That all changed Wednesday evening.
The former president turned up in Durham, N.C., on Feb. 20 to watch the North Carolina Tar Heels play the Duke Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Both teams wear blue and white, but Obama eschewed team colors in favor of basic black. The reception his look has received, however, is anything but basic.
Eagle-viewed viewers noted that the former POTUS’s Rag & Bone black bomber jacket — which some have now dubbed an “O-bomber” — has “44” stitched in white on the sleeve. It’s a reference to his standing as the 44th president, and it’s fair to say that a little bit of embroidery has never caused such a fuss.
The look has earned Obama — often ribbed for wearing “dad jeans” — some sartorial street cred.

You may be cool but you will never be former President Barack Obama at the Duke versus North Carolina game wearing an all black bomber jacket with an embroidered number 44 on the sleeve, cool. https://t.co/eqW5QnbAep

Obama did not have to do it to us with that ‘44’. That’s such a hard flex. https://t.co/WbpI7T9lhE

Of course, not everyone was a fan.
Obama showed up at the UNC vs. Duke game and it seemed like he was pulling for Duke. That’s reason number 44 you should not be a Duke fan

Like the look? The Rag & Bone Manston bomber jacket — the label had Obama’s embroidered especially for him — is still available in size Large, Small and XS on the brand’s website.
