This Barn Might Be One of the Most Beautiful Guest Houses We've Ever Seen
Being asked if you were raised in a barn may be an age-old insult, but we're betting anyone would be proud to call this one home. Or at least, home away from home.
The homeowners wanted to add a guest house-slash-gym to their Wilson, Wyoming, property, according to a Big Life Magazine feature of the finished product. Their love of barns inspired the structure, and they hired architects John Carney and Matt Bowers of Carney Logan Burke—the same firm behind the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve building and the expansion and renovation at Jackson Hole Airport—to bring it to life.
The beautiful barn began with a classic shape, which Carney and Bowers modernized with a gridded glass wall on the second floor (what would have traditionally been a hay loft).
Inside, the windows offer scenic views of the Teton Range mountains while drenching the gorgeous wood floors and exposed ceilings in light.
For such a rustic building and setting, the interior, designed by WRJ Design Associates, is surprisingly modern.
A bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen provides a place for guests to stay, while an open workout space serves a more practical purpose year-round.
Downstairs, the first-floor garage houses the owner's vintage vehicles.
There are even pretty little flower beds outside.
Can this guest house get any cuter? We'd love to spend the night here!
