Just about every bar or restaurant in Milwaukee offers outdoor seating in the summer when locals look to bask in the sun for the few months that it's nice enough to do so.

Often patios can be found street-side for everyone to see, but a few spots have patios tucked behind historic buildings or fenced off to create a cozy, quiet space.

Here are nine cozy patios hidden around Milwaukee to check out this summer.

This Riverwest brewery has a large patio street-side, but tucked in the alley behind the taproom is a smaller patio making use of every bit of its outdoor space. The cozy space has eclectic decor and is surrounded by buildings covered with vines.

Blackbird

This Bay View bar has a bright, enclosed patio filled with murals and flowers, creating quite a contrast to the dark, old-timey theme inside.
