BCJ Gallery in Morton to feature student artwork

Apr. 29—The BCJ Gallery in Morton will host an art exhibit featuring local high school students from May 29 to June 2.

"This exciting, first of a kind, free event will feature a variety of artwork from high school art students at White Pass, Morton, Mossyrock, Onalaska and Napavine schools as well as homeschoolers," organizers wrote in a news release.

The show opens at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, and runs through 4 p.m. Sunday, June 2. Daily hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

A gala event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31, will offer family, friends and interested community members an opportunity to meet the artists and share conversation and refreshments.

The BCJ Gallery, part of the Roxy Theater, is located at 231 W. Main Ave. in downtown Morton. The student art exhibit will take place at the Roxy Theater's new addition, accessible through the BCJ Gallery.

The BCJ Gallery features monthly artists and rotating displays of fine arts and crafts from regional artists. It is part of the Fire Mountain Arts Council, whose mission is to enrich community life through the arts. More information can be found at firemac.org.
