The Bear Star Wants to Play Cyclops in X-Men
The Bear won big last night at the Emmys, but one of its stars has his sights set on new horizons: the MCU.
Matty Matheson, who plays handyman Neil Fak in the award-winning comedy/drama, spoke to Variety on the red carpet about his dream gig.
"My dream is to act in a lot of movies, just act in everything. Maybe a couple Marvels and a couple Indiana Jones…Is the X-Men Marvel? Cyclops. Cyclops is cool."
Matheson is clearly a fan of franchises, and with the Marvel Cinematic Universe growing ever larger, he’s in with a shout. He’d have the most recent Cyclops actor to contend with, however.
That actor is Tye Sheridan, who told ComicBook in 2020 he’s fully down to reprise the role.

"They're cool movies and they have cool characters with super powers, but also there are a lot of deeper themes and messages in that franchise that I really appreciate and respect,” Sheridan said. “So as long as we were staying in that realm, you know, of course, I would be open to working and reprising my role further."
Two actors embodying the same character hasn’t been a problem for Marvel so far. Three actors played different variants of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while both Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor Johnson have played speedster superhero Quicksilver.
