Bella Thorne's New TV Show is Officially Happening and It's Basically The Next "PLL"
Currently in Pretty Little Liars withdrawal? NBD, PLL's executive producer I. Marlene King is about to turn your entire world upside down. She's the executive producer of a new show called Famous in Love, starring none other than Bella Thorne — and the show just got greenlit, which means ABCFamily will start producing the pilot episode.
The new ABC Family/Freeform show is based on a novel of the same name, written by Rebecca Serle. (The sequel novel, Truly Madly Famously, was published today by Little Brown.) It follows Paige Townsen, an ordinary high school student who gets plucked from obscurity in her hometown of Portland, Oregon to play the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster trilogy. While she adjusts to her new star-studded life and develops undeniable chemistry with her two swoon-worthy co-stars, she's also working to uncover the truth about what happened to a famous missing pop star. In other words, it's like PLL but set in Hollywood instead of Rosewood.
"Rebecca Serle completely captured what it's like to be a part of Young Hollywood," Bella said on the book's cover. "I absolutely loved Famous in Love. A must-read for anyone curious about life and love behind the scenes."
The roles of hottie Rainer Devon and bad boy Jordan Wilder have yet to be cast.
Because the show will be executive produced by King (and the pilot episode was written by both King and Serle), you know what to expect: breakneck plot twists, squeal-worthy romances, amazing fashion inspiration, and crazy suspense in every scene. We're already obsessed.
There's currently no word as to when the show will debut, so if you're already hooked on the sizzling premise, the obvious solution is just to start reading! Can't wait to watch Bella Thorne unfold this story's magic week after week.
