Ben Affleck’s Pre-Teen Son Samuel Nailed His Dad’s Famous Befuddled Expression During a Rainy Day in Los Angeles
There are two things we know about Ben Affleck: he is obsessed with Dunkin Donuts coffee, and he has the most prominent RBF (you know, resting b—h face) we’ve ever seen. He always looks upset, like the world has done him wrong — even when out with wife Jennifer Lopez or walking the red carpet. Affleck’s become a meme for depression because we can all relate to that face and those feelings! And it turns out, that befuddled expression is genetic. During a rainy day walk on Thursday, Affleck’s 11-year-old son Samuel made the same face as his dad, and the resemblance is spot-on!
Rainy Day Blues
The Argo star picked his son up from school in Los Angeles on Thursday, where they walked back in the rain, per Page Six. This was not a cute, jumping-in-the-puddles moment, however. Affleck wore a black jacket over a cardigan and a blue t-shirt, jeans, and black sneakers, as he held his son’s backpack in one hand and an iced coffee in the other. Samuel walked next to him, dressed similarly in blue pants, a black jacket with a hood, and black tennis shoes. As they are walking in the rain, Samuel’s face looks just as downtrodden as his dad’s, and it’s so cute. (Hey, at least he has a reason for the glum face!)

Addressing the Accusations
The Air actor, who shares Samuel and daughters Seraphina, 14, and Violet, 18, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, talked about his unhappy face in a March 2023 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Host Jimmy Kimmel joked about a recent holiday party Affleck through, saying, “It seemed you weren’t quite as psyched about the party as everybody else was.”
Affleck laughed and responded, “That’s a common misconception about me. Listen, I have a very unhappy-looking resting face.”
“This is me content,” he continued, showing a face that looked pretty unhappy. He also showed his “amused” face, which was almost exactly the same except tilted a little to the side. “That’s how God made me! You don’t have to punish me for it,” he quipped.
These blended celebrity families make it look easy!
