That means metro Phoenix hotel and resorts are ready to draw Arizona staycationers seeking a refreshing dip in a pool and/or relaxing in the lap of luxury with cocktails in hand.
Hotels offer summer staycation deals in the off-season months as out-of-state travelers avoid the region's scorching summer heat. It gives Arizonans a chance to experience what these hotels have to offer and to feel fancy for a day or two, for a bargain compared to high season rates.
Here's where you can find the best summer staycation deals in metro Phoenix in 2024.

The Phoenician
The deal: The Phoenician's Radiant Summer promotion includes a $50 nightly resort credit for stays at The Phoenician, or a $100 nightly credit at its resort within the resort, The Canyon Suites at The Phoenician. Rates start at $301 per night at The Phoenician and $473 per night at The Canyon Suites.
When to book: The deal is valid for stays through Sept. 30, 2024. Use promo code SUM when booking.
How it compares to peak season: Rates start around $900 to $1,100 per night during the winter months, plus fees.
Know before you book: Reservations can be canceled up to three days before the stay. The deal does not include resort fees, which are $50 per night at The Phoenician and $60 per night at Canyon Suites.

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain, A Gurney's Resort & Spa
The deal: Sanctuary Camelback Mountain is offering Arizona residents 25% off best available rates for casitas and suites, plus a $50 per night resort credit that can be used at its restaurants and spa. Rates start at $299 per night.
When to book: The deal is valid for stays from June 2 to Sept. 12, 2024.
How it compares to peak season: Winter 2025 rates range from $699 to $1,379 per night.

The Wigwam
The deal: The Wigwam's Summertime and Sunshine package offers a low starting rate and a $50 resort credit for the resort's restaurants, spa and golf courses. Rates start at $169 per night.
When to book: The deal is valid for stays through Sept. 10, 2024.
How it compares to peak season: The Wigwam's winter 2025 rates average around $399 per night.
Know before you book: Reservations can be canceled up to three days before booking. The discount does not include the resort fee of $47 per night.

Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass
The deal: Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in the Gila River Indian Community is offering a staycation deal that includes a $100 daily resort credit that can be used at the hotel's restaurants, spa and riverboat rentals on the Gila River. The rate starts at $184 per night plus the $29 per night resort fee.
When to book: The promotion is available for stays through Sept. 2, 2024. Book using the code ZX0.
How it compares to peak season: Winter 2025 rates range from $319 to $803.

Hotel Valley Ho
The deal: Hotel Valley Ho has two staycation deals: Stay two nights and get the third night free, and a 20-30-40 deal where guests who stay three times during the summer will get 20% off the first stay, 30% off the second and 40% off the third. The third night free deal include two drinks, upgraded internet and a room upgrade if available. Summer rates start at $160 per night. Hotel Valley Ho does not charge a resort fee.
When to book: The third night free deal can be booked through Sept. 5 for stays through Sept. 7, The 20-30-40 deal can be booked through Sept. 30 for stays through that date.
How it compares to peak season: Winter 2025 rates range from $499 to $799.

The deal: Mountain Shadows in Paradise Valley, a sister property of Hotel Valley Ho, will also offer stay two nights, get a third free and 20-30-40 deals this summer. Its sale also features a Fee Free Staycation package that waives the $42 per night resort fee. Summer rates start at $199 per night.
When to book: The Fee Free Staycation deal is available for stays through Sept. 2.
How it compares to peak season: Winter 2024 rates start at $549 per night, plus the $42 per night resort fee.
Know before you book: The Fee Free Vacation deal is available only to Maricopa County residents, and guests must present an ID noting a Maricopa County address prior to their stay. Reservations require a one-night nonrefundable deposit.

Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch
The deal: Hyatt Regency Scottsdale, currently amid a $110 million renovation that will culminate in a rebrand to a Grand Hyatt, has three deals that coincide with the hotel's festival-themed summer event Scottchella, with family-friendly poolside activities. Promotional rates start at $169. The deals are:
Swim, Sip and Sleep: Any stay in a standard room or premium suite of two or more nights will include a complimentary one-day cabana rental, which typically starts at $675.
Stay & Dine: Book a standard room or premium suite and receive $100 in food & beverage credit.
Scottchella Staycation: Book a standard room or premium suite and receive an exclusive summer rate.
When to book: The rates are available for stays from May 1 to Sept. 2, 2024. Stays must be booked by July 13.
How it compares to peak season: Rates start around $400 per night during the winter months and do not include free cabanas.
Know before you book: Package inclusions are subject to availability and must be used during the scheduled stay. The Stay & Dine food and beverage credit cannot be used on alcoholic beverages. Blackout dates may apply.
Spa Avania, the Stay-fit gym and the tennis and pickleball courts will close for renovation at the end of June, scheduled to reopen in early September.

The deal: The Fee Free Summer deal waives several fees associated with stays at the Phoenix resort, including the $45 per day resort fee, the $38 per day parking fee and the $150 per stay pet fee. We found rates as low as $216 per night for a June 19-21 stay.
When to book: The rate is available for stays through Sept. 8, 2024.
How it compares to peak season: Rates start around $400-$500 per night during the winter months, plus fees.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
The deal: The Princess has an early bird special that must be booked by May 15, offering 40% off best available rates for stays from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends. Rates start around $200 per night with the discount.
When to book: The discount is available for stays from May 24 to Sept. 2, 2024.
How it compares to peak season: Rates during the winter start at around $600.
Know before you book: The resort fee is $52 per night. The deal is available for all room types but is not valid with packages. Stays booked with the early bird rate are nonrefundable.

When to book: The rates are available for stays from May 24 to Sept. 2.
How it compares to peak season: The typical high-season room rate starts at $649 per night.

The deal: Arizona's largest hotel is offering a Stay & Sip Urban Summer Retreat Package. Rates start at $224 per night and include a sunscreen kit, a bucket of local seltzers and a 4 p.m. check-out.
When to book: This rate is available from May 1 to Sept. 2.
How it compares to peak season: The high season starting rate is about $399 per night.
Know before you book: The resort fee of $25 per night is extra. Self-parking costs $32 per night; valet parking costs $44 per night. Reservations can be canceled up to three days before the stay.

JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa
The deal: Returning from last summer is the Casitas and Ritas rate, which includes a casita stay plus two margaritas and a $50 credit good at the resort's restaurants, spa, golf courses or tennis courts. The package starts at $249 per night.
When to book: The hotel's website says the package is available through Dec. 31. The summer rates are not available past early September.
How it compares to peak season: Rates start around $500-$600 per night during the high season.
Know before you book: Gratuities for the margaritas and the nightly $48 resort fee are extra. Reservations can be canceled up to a week before the stay.

We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort
The deal: Summer staycation rates start at $129 per night for Sunday-Thursday stays and $159 per night for Friday and Saturday stays. Rates include $35 free play in the casino for members of its Fortune Club (which is free to join), two free specialty drinks, 20% off spa treatments, 10% off gift shop purchases (excluding cigarettes and alcohol) and the $29-a-night resort fee.
When to book: This rate is available for stays from May 1 to Sept. 2.
How it compares to peak season: We-Ko-Pa's average winter rates are $209 per night on weekdays and $249 per night on weekends.
Know before you book: Some weekend dates require a minimum two-night stay, and the rate can't be used for more than seven nights. Reservations can be canceled up to two nights before the stay.
