The best après-ski bars in Tignes
Tignes won’t come top of any après charts but it is possible to have a ball from mid-afternoon, with many starting at Val d'Isère's branch of La Folie Douce on the mountain, to the early hours.
The fragmented nature of the resort does, however, affect participation later on – most of the action is in the main hubs of Val Claret and Le Lac, while the lower villages are quieter in the evenings.
For further Tignes inspiration, see our guides to the resort's best accommodation and restaurants.
Dropzone
In Val Claret, Dropzone has the resort’s biggest south-facing terrace and some of the cheapest beer in town. The bar area serves snacks and has DJs, live bands, table football, pool, a big video screen and free Wi-Fi. Later on, the place transforms into a nightclub, closing at 2am.

Couloir Bar
Another good venue in Val Claret, at the end nearest the train and chairlift for the Grande Motte, Couloir is the place to go for live music. It hosts a mix of bands and DJs, and a soul and funk night once a week. The bar has a large selection of whiskies and cocktails and serves tapas, plus there’s a restaurant upstairs.

Grizzly’s
A log cabin with a lovely warm and woody interior complete with fireplace and fur rugs – there’s also an outdoor fire pit – Grizzly’s is one of the most attractive venues in Tignes Val Claret for a vin chaud or hot chocolate. But it is expensive, especially the cocktail menu.

Blue Girl
Open from midnight until 5am, Blue Girl in Val Claret is one of the resort's few late-night clubs. With a mainly EuroPop, Techno and R&B playlist, don't expect to see the first lift if you end the night dancing (around the numerous poles) here.

Le Cocorico
At the bottom of the lifts at the main central hub in Val Claret, Le Cocorico opened its second dance-in-your-ski-boots bar in 2019/20, after the huge success of its Val d’Isère bar . The 400-square-metre open-air terrace hosts live bands and DJs, playing crowd-pleasing pop-rock, daily from 4pm to 8pm. The restaurant serves quick lunches and pizzas, plus coffee, and is open all day.

L’Avant-Garde
Popular with seasonaires and students, L’Avant-Garde in Val Claret is always busy and is open from midnight to 5am every day during the winter season. It’s free to enter and there’s a daily happy hour plus regular drinks promotions.
