The Best Dressed Men at the 2023 Oscars

The traditional codes of men's red carpet looks have long been evolving. Take a look at those in attendance of the 95th addition of the Academy Awards if you don't believe so. Filmmaker Lukas Dhont appeared to the ceremony donning a custom Prada suit with a vibrant red top and glittering shirt under. Actor Harry Shum Jr. added a twist to traditional suiting by donning fashion brand Adeam's first men's tux: a white suit accessories with a blue silk belt that wraps around the jacket. And, Lorenzo Zurzolo opted out of the traditional black and white tuxedo tradition and, instead, wore a Gucci suit with crystals embroidered on. Others, including Lenny Kravitz donning a silk shirt and pants by Saint Laurent, ditched the norm entirely. Altogether, they challenged what the codes of what "Black Tie" attire is for men in the year of 2023.

But, that's not to say that the sleek tuxedo is completely out of the picture. (With the right tailoring, it's usually always a hit). While several stars opted for more contemporary choices, a handful relied on the classics. Brendan Fraser, who is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role in The Whale donned a black tailored suit by Giorgio Armani, while Jay Ellis wore a black suit by Fendi. Even Austin Butler continued his elegant red carpet streak by wearing a double breasted jacket by Saint Laurent.
