The Best Foodie City in America Was Just Named – And It’s Definitely Not What You Expect
If you’re one of the people who likes to travel just to eat, then you’re about to have a brand new reason to travel out to Florida. While most people think of cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York as the go-to destinations for foodies, according to WalletHub, there’s a new sheriff in town and no, it isn’t Miami.

The report, which is titled “2023’s Best Foodie Cities in America,” sees the personal finance site list it’s picks not based on the what fine dining establishments that the cities have, but instead on the diversity and affordability the destination offers for travelers. And while more than 180 cities were up for the coveted top spot, only one reigned supreme over them all.
After considering data such as number of food festivals, grocery costs, and restaurants per capita, it was Orlando that walked away with the crown. Surprised? Well based on the diversity, quality of food, large number of yogurt coffee and ice cream shops, affordability, and more in the city, you probably shouldn’t be.

Boasting historic restaurants such as Nikki’s Place and popular dining spaces near the University of Central Florida, The City Beautiful is on its way to becoming a go-to destination that isn’t just related to Disney (which isn’t even in Orlando to start).
So what other cities happened to make the list following Orlando? Los Angeles arrived in the third spot, while Chicago and New York City nabbed the 14th and 20th spots, respectively.
