Who has the best french fries in Livingston? Locals crown Mackle's

LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Our readers gave their "tots" on the matter, and the best local french fries have been crowned.

We asked locals to vote between six nominees on National French Fry Day. Mackle's Table and Taps, located at 1774 N. Old US-23, was voted No. 1 among sit-down and fast-food restaurants in The Daily's online poll.

Joe Mackle, former managing partner of Stillwater Grill in Brighton, purchased O'Malley's Irish Pub and Restaurant in July 2016. He closed the restaurant for remodeling and reopened under the name Mackle's Table and Taps.

Mackle's sells truffle fries with sea salt, coarse black pepper, truffle oil, shredded parmesan and balsamic glaze, with a jalapeno ranch dipping sauce, according to its website. The restaurant also sells seasoned, sweet potato and pickle fries.

Mackle's took home 33.78% of the vote, followed by runner-up McDonald's, with 23.67% of the vote.
