A total of 13 Texas cities made a list of the best and worst places to celebrate the Fourth of July. How did your city fare?

Personal finance company WalletHub analyzed the 100 largest U.S. cities with factors such as average prices for alcohol, durations of firework shows and the Independence Day weather forecast. Here's how Texas cities scored.

Best and worst Texas cities for the Fourth of July

  1. San Antonio: The Alamo City ranked 12th overall in the best cities in which to spend the Fourth of July. It also claimed 4th in affordability, and 5th in celebrations.

  2. El Paso: Ranking 19th among U.S. cities is El Paso. The west Texas city also scored among the top 20 U.S. cities for favorable July 4 weather. It is listed 30th in celebrations by WalletHub.

  3. Dallas: With an overall placement of 24, Dallas was deemed the 7th best city for Fourth of July celebrations. The home of the Cowboys also ranked 22nd in affordability.

  4. Houston: Following behind Dallas as 25th overall, H-Town ranked 7th in affordability among U.S. cities. It also placed 13th for Independence Day celebrations.

  5. Austin: The state capital claimed the 39th overall position as well as 8th in affordability behind Houston. WalletHub also ranked Austin 22nd for celebrations.

  6. Fort Worth: Cowtown tied with Jacksonville, Florida as the 54th best U.S. city for the Fourth of July. It also ranked 29th and 30th for celebrations and affordability, respectively.

  7. Irving: WalletHub ranked Irving 26th for affordability and 35th for July 4 celebrations. It also scored 76th overall among U.S. cities.

  8. Lubbock: Hub City claimed 29th for its Independence Day weather and 55th in safety and accessibility. Lubbock is listed among U.S. cities as 79th overall.

  9. Plano: Coming in at 80th overall behind Lubbock, Plano ranked 9th in affordability but 99th for its Fourth of July weather.

  10. Arlington: The entertainment capital of Texas was deemed 32nd in Independence Day celebrations as well as 36th in both affordability and safety and accessibility. Arlington ranked 83rd among U.S. cities.

  11. Corpus Christi: WalletHub ranked Corpus Christi 25th in affordability and 40th in safety and accessibility. It came in 94th overall for U.S. cities.

  12. Garland: Listed at 18th for safety and accessibility and 20th for affordability is Garland. The city ranked 97th overall.

  13. Laredo: Following Garland as 98th overall, Laredo was 41st in affordability and 59th in safety and accessibility.
