Bethenny Frankel Shares She May Never Marry Fiancé Paul Bernon
Bethenny Frankel might be engaged to fiancé Paul Bernon, but to her, that doesn't mean she's getting married.
The former reality TV star opened up about her wedding plans–or lack thereof–with E! News' Keltie Knight, saying, "I don't want to build a wedding."
"I love my life, I love my fiancé. He's an amazing life partner and I don't want to sign a contract with someone I love and I don't want to plan a massive wedding for everybody else and not what we want," she went on.
Frankel and Bernon got engaged in February 2021, weeks after the former finalized her divorce with ex-husband Jason Hoppy, with whom she shares her 13-year-old daughter Bryn, after a years-long legal battle.
The Skinnygirl founder shared that she continually questions Bernon about why he's in a relationship with her, saying, "I ask him, 'Why are you here?' and he'll say to me, 'I choose to be here.'"
She continued, "He lives with a clown and he loves comedy, so that's the answer. I'm smart and funny and he enjoys comedy and he gets the front-row seat to this clown show."
Frankel and Bernon first started dating in 2018, and although they briefly split in 2020, they got back together and have been going strong ever since.
The 52-year-old finally shared the story of the couple's engagement on social media last month, recounting their trip to the Florida Keys. Frankel shared that Bernon set up a dinner on the beach "as private and romantic as a fantasy date on 'the bachelor…'"
The two managed to keep the engagement secret for weeks before it finally got leaked in March 2021.
