Over the past year, I’ve been trying to upgrade my skincare routine in an effort to make my face look and feel cleaner, healthier and ageless. As Home Editor at T3, I’ve been lucky enough to try some of the best skincare gadgets, including LED face masks and microcurrent devices, but the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush might be my favourite skincare product I’ve tried in a long time.

As one of the best facial cleansing brushes, the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush is a 2-in-1 device that uses cleansing and vibration technology to massage the face, cleanse the skin and boost circulation. I was interested to see if it had any effect on my skin, and as someone who can be very lazy with skincare, how easy it was to fit into my routine.

Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush review: design and features

The Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush is a battery-powered silicone skincare device that measures 11.3 x 7.8 x 4.8 cm and weighs 80g. It’s got an oval shape with a water resistant and ergonomic design that sits comfortably in the hand. As a rechargeable device, it takes two hours to fully charge and offers approximately four hours of operating time.

On the front of the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush are multiple soft bristles and underneath them are the simple controls, including on/off and arrows to change the intensity. The back of the brush has raised lines for the vibration technology, so you can use both sides of the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush.

Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush review: performance

As mentioned above, the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush came with the brush, holder, charger and instructions manual in a small cardboard box. It was simple to set up as all I needed to do was charge it fully before it was ready to go. After testing it most evenings for a few weeks now, I can confidently say that the battery life is incredibly long lasting as I haven’t had to recharge it yet.

The skin-friendly silicone material is soft and smooth. The Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush fits nicely in my hand, and feels comfortable and relaxing on the face. The way I’ve been using the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush is to apply cleanser directly to my skin before going over my entire face with the brush to work deep into the pores.

After using the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush this way for a few weeks, I’ve definitely noticed a difference to my skin. My face feels much smoother and looks healthier after I’ve used it and the cleanser gets much deeper into my skin and hard-to-reach areas like around my nose. I’ve also noticed less spots and redness in certain areas.

The massaging aspect of the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush isn’t something I’d typically gravitate towards so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It feels extremely relaxing and I noticed how it boosted my circulation, especially around my cheeks. I also found it extremely easy to introduce to my skincare routine, and it’s quickly become my most commonly used skincare device.

The main negative I have is that the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush can be tricky to clean. While it’s a water resistant brush, I felt that it needed more cleaning than just water, considering it comes into contact with my skin, so I question how hygienic it can be.

Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush review: verdict

The Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush might be simple, but it does both of its two functions extremely well. It’s cute, compact, easy to travel with and has a brilliant battery life, plus it’s super affordable. I found it easy to incorporate into my skincare routine and found that it actually made a difference to my skin by reducing spots and redness. While I don’t use the massaging function as much, it’s very relaxing to use after a long day.

To be completely honest, I don’t have much to complain about when it comes to the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush, other than its cleaning could be better. However, I will say that it’s pretty basic, so if you want something more advanced or an app-compatible device, then you’ll want to look elsewhere.

Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush review: alternatives to consider

If you want something more advanced than the Beurer FC 52 Laguna Facial Brush, the Foreo Luna 3 is the one to choose. It excels in cleansing and product absorption, plus it has an app that offers set treatments and advice. But because of this, it’s more expensive at £169.

If you fancy another app free option, the PMD Clean cleanses, massages and won’t break the bank either. It has a unique design with a handle, which makes it slightly easier to use and get into difficult angles.
