Beyoncé's stylist claps back at trolls over Queen Bey's natural hair
Countless articles have recently praised Beyoncé’s latest look, in the belief that she was showing off her natural hair. Her go-to hairstylist, Neal Farinah, shared several photos of his award-winning client, and lots of his praise for her ‘do was centered around her natural hair. However, many people are calling him out for allegedly putting out false information regarding Queen Bey’s curly coiffure.
Under one Instagram post, Farinah shared, “SLAY ME THAT NATURAL CURLY HAIR,” and in another, he used the hashtags #naturalhair” and #naturalcurlyhair. While he was saluting the 36-year-old “Formation” singer, naysayers left comments such as “You know d*** well that’s a weave. Stop lying yo. Her hair is closer to Solanges texture.” Another person pointed out that perhaps the star has extensions, commenting, “The color on those extensions are amazing, matched it perfectly with Beyoncé’s hair. Average person wouldn’t be able even tell.”

Instead of answering every query about Beyoncé’s hair, Farinah decided to create a video to address the brewing backlash. He began with, “Sometimes women make choices, and black women are not the only ones who wear wigs, weaves, and pieces. Remember that!”
He continued, “And underneath wigs and weaves? Black women have some of the most beautiful, curly hair. It’s a choice women make, and that’s the choice a black woman makes, to wear wigs or weaves. If she wants to, ain’t nothing wrong with it. So the myth about black women not having hair — ya’ll think again, because they have some of the most beautiful textured hair, recognize.”

Of course, many members of Beyoncé’s loyal fan base, aka the Beyhive, shared Farinah’s thoughts and clapped back at anyone trying to bash him for calling out Beyoncé’s natural hair. One person wrote, “Neal love u Beyoncé bullies are real…..I want Bey to come for haters in 2018… wow keep promoting your work with Beyoncé!!!!!!”
There is a misconception that because many black women choose to wear weaves, wigs, or protective styles, they must not have any of their own natural hair. This is a false assumption. Most women wear added pieces of hair if they are trying to achieve a certain level of thickness, or they preserve and protect their own hair by giving it a rest from constant styling or heat manipulation.
We can’t confirm whether or not Beyoncé was in fact wearing extensions, but by the looks of her mother’s hair, we are sure whatever her natural hair looks like, it is beyond beautiful.
