The premiere of Big Brother 25 was chock full of events, whether it was the "Time Laser" that opened the game or the sixteen new houseguests that moved in to play 100 days in the pursuit of $750,000. But the 25th season of the stalwart reality series saved its climax to the end, when it was revealed that a surprise 17th houseguest would be joining the cast. And it's a big one, as four-time Survivor player and Traitors winner Cirie Fields ended the episode by officially joining the show.

The announcement of a 17th houseguest was first teased by the Big Brother X account at 6:00, two hours before the 90-minute premiere started. It posted, "The #BB25 multiverse will release a mystery 17th HG... What's your guess for who it is?"

Throughout the premiere, Julie Chen Moonves teased both the new houseguests and audience about what's to come. After watching a video revealed alumni Danielle Reyes, Frankie Grande, and Britney Haynes had unleashed a "time laser" on the house, she stated, "The Big Brother multiverse has cracked open." Worlds were already colliding, creating "the most unpredictable season ever."

Little did we know that worlds were colliding in more ways than one. As the 90-minute premiere ended, the houseguests walked back into the house, missing one as Cory Wurtenberger had been "dragged into the nether region" and missing in action. But he was replaced by a friendly (and familiar) face, pouring the wine. It was none other than Cirie Fields, giving her textbook smile.

Cirie is one of the most popular contestants in Survivor history, as well as regarded as one of the best to never win. After first gracing our screens in 2016's Survivor: Exile Island, she appeared three times more, making it to three finales in total. Earlier this year, she was able to finally claim a victory when she won Peacock's first season of The Traitors. We'll see if she can continue the streak with Big Brother.

What makes this even more interesting is one particular contestant she's playing with: Her son Jared Fields. Jared, an exterminator from Norwalk, CT, was already announced to be playing with the rest of the cast back on Monday. He came in vowing he would not tell anyone about his mom, an expert on social strategy. This makes things complicated to say the least.

Next, get to know the cast of Big Brother 25.
