Before hitting the carpet, she and her brother Finneas accepted a Grammy sans Barbie jacket:

The multi-Grammy winner is nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Music Video thanks to Barbie’s “What Was I Made For?” And on top of that, she’s nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance thanks to appearing on “Never Felt So Alone” from Labrinth.

Billie told Allure back in September that she and her brother Finneas wrote “What Was I Made For?” during a “period of time where we couldn’t have been less inspired and less creative.” Like, to the point where they said. “We’ve lost it. Why are we even doing this?" But then the first chords of the song hit, and Billie says, “The song wrote itself” from that point on.

“I have the whole video of us writing the song, and the first thing we wrote were those lines in the first 10 minutes,” she explained. “We wrote most of the song without thinking about ourselves and our own lives, but thinking about this character we were inspired by. A couple of days went by, and I realized it was about me. It’s everything I feel. And it’s not just me—everyone feels like that, eventually.”
