Billy Joel introduced fans to his adorable new family member.
In an Instagram post shared on Nov. 5, the "Piano Man" singer revealed he adopted a French Bulldog, named Bucky. He uploaded a collection of snaps featuring his youngest daughters Della, 8, and Remy, 6, playing with the pup alongside their mom, Alexis Roderick. Joel ended the carousel with a snap of Bucky taking a nap while laying in his bed upside down.
In the caption, Joel shared that the family had been waiting for the perfect pooch to rescue following the death of their beloved dog, Rosie.
He wrote, "A year and a half ago, we lost Rosie and were waiting for the right rescue for our family. Thanks to @bethostern and Nikki @roadogs for finding our Bucky. He was at a shelter in San Diego with a bad case of mange @roadogs rescued him and nursed him back to health and now he is part of our family."
Fans thanked the musician in the comments for choosing to adopt instead of purchasing the pup at a pet shop.
"Thank you for rescuing, and for sharing that you did. There are so many great pets that need homes. Congratulations on your sweet baby. ??," shared a fan. Another wrote, "Now that’s a success story! ?? Thank you Joel family for adopting this boy!"
Fans also gushed over how cute Bucky is.
"Aw, so much love in those photos...the solo on the bed shot is hilarious ?? It's the 'Yep! I won the dog lottery' pose," read a comment. Another fan remarked, "Omg he is adorable!! Lucky Bucky???? your life is going to be beautiful!!!"
Joel isn't the only music legend to adopt this year, as Paul McCartney and wife Nancy Shevell also welcomed a "little pup" into their home in July.
