When Billy Kemper Says This Is “One of the Better Waves of My Life,” We Know It’s a Must Watch

From late October until early April, Billy Kemper has one wave on his mind.

Jaws.

One of the best (if not the best) surfer to ever pack 50-foot tubes at Maui's Peahi, Kemper's built a life and career around the world's biggest slab.

That said, what does Kemper do during the rest of the year?

While he's no slouch in shreddable surf and spends plenty of time chasing it, he also can't go 6-months without packing a huge tube.

Enter mainland Mexico.

In the edit above, Kemper chases an XL swell to an extra scary beachbreak. It's not Jaws, but it sure as hell looks exhilarating.

"There’s moments in life we chase for a feeling of high energy to put yourself into a state where time stands still and your completely checked out of this world," says Kemper about the opening wave in the edit above. "This is it for me. Out the back in the dark to start the day off straight into one of the better waves of my life. I’ll remember this one forever. MJ on my mind all day."

When Kemper makes a claim like that, we know it's a must watch.
