The singer is opening up about his relationship with Australian singer Firerose.

Billy Ray Cyrus is ready to walk down the aisle with Firerose.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the "Old Town Road" crooner revealed that he is engaged to the Australian singer.

Cyrus recalled meeting Firerose on the set of Hannah Montana 12 years ago. He mentioned that the singer was on the lot for an audition and though she didn't get the part, he introduced her to some producers for his Disney show, which starred his now-29-year-old daughter, Miley Cyrus.

The country singer revealed that the pair stayed close friends throughout the years, and started working on music together during the COVID-19 pandemic. They even debuted a song together titled, "Time." You can check out the music video below!

"All of the sudden, the life that I've always known as a touring artist didn't exist anymore. A moment of so much change. And at the same time, Firerose, who had been such a light of positivity, such a best friend. And then when we began sharing the music, it just evolved more into, as musical soulmates, to soulmates, happy, pure love that to me, I didn't know could exist," Cyrus said, adding, "Again, we're musicians, first and foremost, both of us. And we found this harmony, and this rhythm, this melody to life."

Cyrus popped the question in August 2022 in an unconventional way. He didn't get down on one knee, nor did he have a ring, but Firerose was set on marrying him. "Billy looked at me and said, 'Do you, do you wanna marry me?' And I was just like, 'Of course I do. I love you,'" she told the outlet.

Cyrus and his ex-wife, Tish, filed for divorce for the third time in April. The former couple share five kids including, Miley, 22-year-old Noah Cyrus, 33-year-old Trace Cyrus, 35-year-old Brandi Cyrus, and 28-year-old Braison Cyrus
