Black Actor Robert Ri’chard and White Actor Neal McDonough Look Exactly Alike Which Has Tiktok Theorizing—Again
Prolific character actor Neal McDonough and his wife, Ruvé, have enough children to start a basketball team (People reported on the birth of his fifth child in 2014), but for years, folks all over these internets have been wondering if they he fathered a sixth man in fellow actor Robert Ri’chard.
Side-by-side photos of the two do reveal an uncanny resemblance. Despite McDonough being white and Ri’chard Black, they do have the same eyes, same smile and a similar jawline. And the age difference—McDonough is 57, Ri’chard is 40—is just enough to make the father-son idea plausible.

TikTok creator @ByrdwithaY is the most recent to continue pushing the rumor with a November post of a father-daughter duo dancing followed by photos of McDonough and Ri’chard, saying: “The only f——g kid you got. The only kid you got” that has generated more than 1,700 comments, including:
@MandySBaby: “That’s his daddy!!! Can’t nobody tell me otherwise!!!! ?? ?? ?? ??”
@Mandy: “Somebody call Maury and his camera man ???????? ??”
@Zara H: “Why is he not claiming him ????”
@user1369103000467: “I need them to go on that ancestry show on PBS”
Pipe the eff down, social media! Other than the facial features—and their shared profession—the two men don’t appear to be related. Staunch Irish-Catholic McDonough is as well known for refusing to do sex scenes out of respect for his religion and his wife as he is for his acting. He never dropped trou on “Desperate Housewives,” though everybody who lived on that cul-de-sac slept with everybody else, and according to Deadline, he was fired from short-lived ABC dramedy “Scoundrels” because of his no sex-scenes stance.
Los Angeles-born and bred Ri’chard has been acting since age 13 and is reportedly the son of a former basketball player Jack Ri’chard (confirmation of this is hard to come by). Though intensely private, it has been reported that the “Harlem” recurring cast member has said his father is his biggest influence and in a since-deleted Father’s Day IG post, he thanked his father for “being a strong example of a man of God. I confidently stand on the principles you grounded in me, and they affect every decision I make as I go through life.”
They say everybody has a twin. On second thought, sketchy bio info on Ri’chard, strong religious principles … We stand corrected: McDonough just might be Ri’chard’s daddy. Or, like one person claimed, they could be the same person.
